Coupled with the hilltop views of the city from this stunning Saint Francis Woods home, you’ll be treated to a sampling of priceless wines from one of the most spectacular wine cellars in San Francisco along with music chosen especially to complement them!
Wines from France and Austria-Hungary have inspired a musical program of works by composers who reigned supreme in Paris, Vienna, and Salzburg, performed by a quartet of American Bach's best.
Making their American Bach debuts in this concert are violinist Ela Kodžas and harpsichordist Benjamin D'Annibale. Both were participants in the 2023 ABS Academy. Ela is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Baroque Violin Performance at The Juilliard School, and Ben is a graduate of the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg in Germany (M.M. Harpsichord).
Jean-Féry Rebel:

Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber:
Violin Sonata No. 3 in F Major C. 140
Georg Muffat:
Sonata in D Major
Johann Heinrich Schmelzer:
“Lanterly” (Sonata a 3)
Nancy and I are truly excited to host ‘Into the Woods’ for yet another afternoon of music, food, and wine, all enjoyably integrated to enhance your experience. As has often been the case in recent years, the integrating theme seems to emerge from our recent travels, whether French food, wine, and composers, Italian food, wine, and composers, or others. Nancy and I were off to Austria for a bit of a New Year’s vacation: five nights in Vienna and two nights in Salzburg. So my message to you today is that I will be excited to share some of our wine experiences (and tasting) when we see each other soon.
