About the Music

This program of emotional Italian melodrama, crafted by two of the greatest composers of solo cantatas from the Baroque, will wow you with vocal fireworks and gripping theatricality.

Agrippina, sister to Caligula, pushed her treachery too far and fell to a shocking fate. And tyrannical affection leads to a lover's fury. Soprano Maya Kherani and mezzo-soprano Sarah Coit will deliver gut-wrenching performances of Handel's Agrippina cantata, described by the most distinguished Handelian scholar as "a masterpiece," is paired with two tour-de-force dramatic scenes by Vivaldi.

Maya & Sarah brought the house down at our "Madness & Mayhem" concert in January, and they'll be paired again to bring you another night of stunning vocalism.
