Friends of the Academy

The American Bach Soloists ACADEMY was founded in 2010 with the purpose of providing mentorship and artistic support to those musicians who are seeking to bridge the gap between advanced conservatory, university, or personal studies and an emerging career, either as soloists, chamber musicians, or with professional Early Music institutions.

Since the ACADEMY's inaugural year, more than 500 participants have been admitted from around the world, representing Australia, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Republic of Singapore, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, the United States, and Venezuela.

The American Bach Soloists FRIENDS OF THE ACADEMY represent the San Francisco Bay Area arts community’s most culturally responsible patrons who are excited to provide uniquely challenging and artistically productive educational experiences to the world’s next generation of professional musicians specializing in the timeless repertoire of the Baroque era and, in particular, the music of Bach and his contemporaries.

Whether your passion is for the Arts, Education, or specifically the advancement of Baroque Music, your investment in the careers of the cream of the crop from conservatories around the globe will help ensure the future of the great music that has inspired generations.

You can become a FRIEND OF THE ACADEMY through your commitment of $1,000 or more in support, and you can help us further – and bring much-needed scholarship funds to the table – by engaging your colleagues, associates, and friends to join you.

As a member of this essential and prestigious society, you will be invited to a special opening reception on the first day of the Academy to meet our students and faculty. You will also be invited to an Academy "Lunch Hour" when you can get to know Academy Participants and hear about their experiences, exclusive Festival VIP Intermission Receptions, and a special private "farewell" reception at the conclusion of the Academy. Also, only Friends of the Academy have exclusive priority access to the Academy's "Coffee House" concert. Additionally, your support will be acknowledged in Festival program booklets.
