After a heroic battle with cancer, Dr. Henry I. Goldberg passed away on September 20, 2005 in Tiburon at age 67, surrounded by his family. He was a man who loved family, music and teaching.

Hank was an enthusiastic and devoted supporter of the American Bach Soloists. He and his wife Jan joined the Board of Trustees in 1998. In September, 2002, Hank stepped up as President, beginning a three-year term that was marked by numerous advances in the organization. Through his patient and nurturing guidance, the American Bach Soloists expanded our subscription series to Davis, increased staffing, created a three-year strategic plan, and reestablished our recording presence with the release of three CDs – all while stabilizing our budget during difficult economic times.

American Bach Soloists is a better organization thanks to Hank, and we will be forever indebted to his quiet strength and determination. He will be sorely missed.
