MAIA SILBERSTEIN (violin), a native of Davis CA, received
her Bachelor of Music degree from the Juilliard School in
1990 and her Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute
of Music in 1992. After performing for two years with the
Sartory String Quartet, in residence at Kent State University,
she traveled to Brussels with a fellowship from the Belgian
American Educational Foundation to study the Baroque violin
with Sigiswald Kuijken. She currently plays abroad with
Les Arts Florissants, La Petite Bande and the Ricercar Consort,
and in the U.S. with Apollo's Fire. She was a prizewinner
in 1999 at the International Baroque competition at Stift
Melk in Austria.
